End Abuse!
until abuse ends
BACKGROUND
End Abuse Inc. is an initiative launched by Sheri Rettew, a 15-year veteran of working child sexual abuse and sexual violence cases and an abuse survivor herself. Rettew has dedicated her life to making sure that the child abuse issue stays in front of lawmakers and is determined to be a part of these conversations at a significant level. Social media has increased the ability of organizations and groups, such as End Abuse, to reach a wider audience, thereby increasing its outreach. It is with this heart that this website and effort was launched.

MISSION
The mission of End Abuse is to help improve society’s response to child sexual abuse through education, awareness and advocacy.

WHY ANOTHER NONPROFIT? ANOTHER WEBSITE?
There are thousands of websites dedicated to child sexual abuse information, support groups, prevention resources, and countless other topics. More are popping up on the internet every day. What makes this website and mission different is that it puts the focus on how society (law enforcement, social services, teachers, medical personnel, clergy, private individuals and communities, etc.) respond to child sexual abuse allegations or suspicions. While we believe it is true that it’s going to take everyone – every individual and every group – to fully address the problem of child sexual abuse, we also believe it’s vital to examine our current response to child sexual abuse cases. We want to encourage healthy accountability to those in positions of authority – those in a position to make a real difference in the lives of the victims and survivors.

NONPROFIT STATUS
End Abuse is currently in the process of making application for 501(c)3 nonprofit (tax-exempt) status with the Internal Revenue Service. Until then, monetary donations are considered tax deductible only to the extent that the law allows it. We encourage you to talk with your accountant prior to making a donation if tax deduction is vital, and prior to receiving our tax-exempt 501(c)3 status.
