DONATE NOW The Community Coalition Against Family Violence (CCAFV) serves two vital functions, in Craven, Jones, and Pamlico Counties, with much of our work divided under two programs: Victim Services and Prevention Education. National estimates project that one in three girls is sexually abused before the age of eighteen, and one in six boys. However, it is estimated that almost 75% legitimate cases go unreported at all. Without our help, victims would have to fend for themselves in an already-overloaded system, possibly not receiving any relief or healing. Save 34% on book orders over $25 at amazon.com! Not content to watch our families succumb to increasing incidents of family violence, we strive to be part of the solution -- not only by responding to existing family violence situations -- but by helping prevent future generations from suffering the same fate. The true goal of the Community Coalition Against Family Violence is to prevent future incidents of child abuse and family violence by promoting positive parenting, healthy families, and homes where children are valued and loved. With your help, we can continue reaching for our goal. Please browse our website to see how we might be able to help you, or read about how we're bringing hope and healing to our community. Contact us if you need assistance, or are interested in joining the fight to stop family violence. -- Sheri Rettew |
