Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. CCAFV volunteers provide much-needed support services to our clients, staff and programs on a daily basis. In the last year alone, volunteers donated over 2,700 hours, valued at over $54,000 to CCAFV. Our success rests with your support; our clients as well as funders require volunteer involvement of this level from people like you. Our volunteer program offers many opportunities, including direct service, administrative, community outreach and prevention work. We also offer short- and long-term commitments to match your interests, schedule and skills. AGENCY EXPECTATIONS & VOLUNTEER QUALIFICATIONS
COMMUNITY EDUCATION Educate the public/raise awareness about the dynamics of family violence, CCAFV resources, etc. ADMINISTRATION Many opportunities including: typing, filing, organizing, data entry, stuffing envelopes, etc. ANNUAL & SPECIAL EVENTS Help us prepare for and facilitate annual events with planning, decorating, organizing, cleaning, and your creativity. We need special help during our annual Chocolate Celebration, and other fun events. TABLING Help raise awareness about our services by attending events such as health, job, faith-based, or community fairs through Craven, Jones, and Pamlico Counties. MEDIA Strengthen our community outreach by working with the press, writing press releases and monitoring family violence coverage (may be done at home). VOLUNTEER RECRUITER Identify opportunities for outreach to and recruitment of potential volunteers, especially with the following communities: Hispanic and African American community to help increase our ability to serve and our visibility in the counties' diverse communities. TRANSLATORS Become an integral part of our agency by translating communications and documents for clients. Spanish especially needed! BOARD OF DIRECTORS Serve on the Board of Directors of CCAFV. Community leaders who are people of color, former survivors of family violence, and other members of underrepresented communities are especially encouraged to apply. Directors attend monthly meetings, serve on committees, and meet minimum fundraising goals. |
